We are delighted to introduce The Light Shade Studio to an online audience with the launch of a fabulous new website. Here, you’ll learn about our lamp shades and how they are lovingly and individually crafted by hand in Oxfordshire using our beautiful fabric library of silk dupion, linen and satin.

The handwoven 100% silk dupion fabrics are highly lustrous; characterised by an irregular texture or ‘slub’ that provides a crisp feel and incredible sheen to the finished product.

Our workshop uses traditional hand finishing methods with an extensive selection of elegant colours, from on-trend neutrals through to eye-catching, bold, bright tones. Each shade is created with a sharp rolled edge finish which charmingly complements the aesthetic designs.

We’ve been making shades for several years, which has allowed our workshop team to hone and develop their skills and techniques to synergise with our designers; letting us push the boundaries on remarkable craftsmanship, Made in Britain.

Our website will showcase these products as well as inspire your imagination, creative flair and offer advice on how you can use our shades to complement your own décor.
