The majority of our shades are designed to fit on both European and traditional UK style Lampholders.
European Lampholders are typically available in two sizes. The 42mm diameter lampholder is designed to take a large Edison Screw Lamp (also known as ES or E27). A 29mm diameter European lampholder takes a Small Edison Screw Lamp (SES or E14).
Traditional UK Lampholders are 29mm in diameter and take a large Bayonet Cap lamp (also known as BC or B22). Most of our shade frames are manufactured with a 42mm gimble ring. (The gimble is the fixing ring which sits on top of the lampholder. The shade is fixed to the base using a shade carrier). Inside each gimble sits a plastic reducer ring which brings the gimble size down to 29mm. The reducer clips in place and can be easily removed. The gimble size can be found on each product page.

Yes, most of our silk shades are available in a luxurious selection of silk colours. All our options are shown in Products > Shades

Yes most of our shades can be used with a ceiling light. For a drum style shade simply remove the shade ring, offer the gimble to the lampholder then secure in place with the shade ring provided.
Our shade team will be happy to discuss your requirements and ensure the shade is suitable for its intended purpose.
Some shades have a Reversible Gimble so regardless of the shape of shade it can be easily used with a table or floor lamp and as a pendant by moving the angle of the internal struts. All our reversible frames are supplied to fit a European (42mm) or UK lampholder (29mm)

Simply follow the simple steps below:
1 - Complete the returns form that you would have received with your product
2 - Return your items to their original packaging along with this form and label your parcel with our returns address: Returns, The Light Shade Studio, David Hunt Lighting, Tilemans Lane, Shipston on Stour, Warwickshire CV36 4HP
3 - Return the order to us and call 01295 672628 or email website@thelightshadestudio.co.uk to advise us of the item and tracking number.

Due to the nature of bespoke or customised light fittings we are unable to include these items in our standard returns policy. These are 'made to order' shades that are made to your individual requirements or size and cannot be resold by us. We work with you and do our utmost to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your order before your light is made for you, but regret we are unable to offer refunds on bespoke fittings after the initial 24 hour cooling off period. Our production and delivery time for bespoke items is 2/3 weeks.

None of the above affects your statutory rights where goods are faulty or not as described.

Yes, The Lighting Studio is a sub-brand of the där lighting group. We have a workshop in Oxfordshire are and solely dedicated to manufacturing The Light Shade Studio branded products using the finest fabrics. All of our products are manufactured by hand in our Oxfordshire workshop.
